Celebrate the American Cancer Society’s 14 years of fighting cancer and researching for a cure through the Black & White Gala. Join the Acadiana community at this formal event of glitz, glamour and entertainment that has become the talk of the town! Each year, the Black & White Gala honors outstanding individuals in the community as Spirit of Hope Honorees. These honorees are nominated by their peers and include cancer survivors, caregivers, healthcare professionals and individuals who have had a significant impact on the Acadiana and cancer communities: The evening also features an online silent auction with mobile bidding and Fund the Mission call to action fundraising. Fund the Mission is an opportunity to directly allocate funds to access to care via transportation assistance in Louisiana or general cancer research. Each Fund the Mission donation is 100% tax deductible.
American Cancer Society Hope Lodge® communities offer a home away from home for people facing cancer and their caregivers when cancer treatment is far away. Our 30+ Hope Lodge communities provide a free place to stay during treatment so people with cancer can focus on getting better. These communities provide comfortable guest suites with private baths, as well as inviting spaces with all the comforts of home, including a communal kitchen, dining area, laundry rooms, and places to gather or find a quiet respite – all at no cost to guests. Hope Lodge guests don’t just find a place to stay – they find a community of support and an emotional connection with others facing the same journey.
